The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show, LIVE!
Created by and starring drag superstars BenDeLaCreme & Jinkx Monsoon, “The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special” is the story of two queens who set out to create a classic Christmas TV variety show, but just can’t agree on how.

With the help of a chorus of dancers and DeLa’s deceased grandmother—whose spirit lives on in a glass of eggnog—DeLa tries her hardest to uphold the cheery Christmas traditions of her childhood. Meanwhile, Jinkx is much more interested in bawdy jokes, cute boys, and boozy libations. As they sing and dance their way through numbers about everything from St. Nick to the Christ child, the tension between them mounts, culminating in an all-out battle for control of the show. After some hilarious insight into the ghosts of their very different Christmas pasts, and with the help of a mysterious naked man with a surprising holiday secret, the two realize that tradition can be whatever we make of it, and family is whomever we choose.

This high camp, side-splitting romp is equal parts sacrilegious and sweet, with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold. “The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special” is sure to be a new holiday tradition for all the lost toys who know that the best traditions are the ones we create ourselves.

UK VOD Release: Tokyo Dragon Chef

0
Terracotta Distribution are delighted to announce the release of their insane Japanese action comedy, Tokyo Dragon Chef. Behind the camera is renowned director, Yoshihiro Nishimura, responsible for cult hits such as ‘Tokyo Gore Police’ and ‘Meatball Machine: Kodoku’ and the special FX director of Shin Godzilla.

Retired Yakuzas open a ramen restaurant and become an overnight sensation, thanks to their recipe developed in prison. But a mysterious upstart gang is taking down every Yakuza family one by one, drawing the chefs back into the gangland underworld once more!

Terracotta Distribution owner Joey Leung was thrilled that the film will be reaching UK audiences.

Everyone needs their spirits lifted at the moment and this blend of Yakuza rivalry, culinary success story and colourful musical are the much needed ingredients for a crazy, uplifting recipe that only the Japanese directors like Yoshihiro Nishimura can serve up. This is great find from us, it’s the film equivalent of crate digging for records and finding that gem you know people will just love, with a mix of older famous actors, young youtubers and pop idols.

Tokyo Dragon Chef is a hilarious and bonkers infusion of Blues Brothers and Tampopo – martial arts, music and of course, ramen!

Tokyo Dragon Chef will be on DVD & Digital Download from 25th January

A Christmas Carol follows a Victorian family as they prepare a toy-theatre for their annual performance of A Christmas Carol. The audience enters the imagination of one of the children and quickly the cardboard stage transforms to reveal a magical world containing real dancers and stylised sets.  The tale unfolds on screen in a rich tapestry of highly absorbing, haunting and theatrical drama with characters portrayed by dancers and voiced by an eclectic cast of incredible actors. The mix of danced action and spoken narration brings a completely new and exciting dimension to Dickens’ characters whilst remaining true to the beauty of his original narrative.

With pantomime season all but cancelled, the dual approach to release is to support both cinema and theatre industries during a time of financial hardship generated by the Coronavirus pandemic. The announcement of a second lockdown has not changed directors David and Jacqui Morris’s approach towards such an inherently theatrical film, best enjoyed on the big screen. Both directors see the release and supporting local cinemas and theatres as an inherent part of A Christmas Carol’s 2020 release.

A Christmas Carol will be showing in mainland UK cinemas and theatres nationwide from 4th December and Ireland from 11th December. Visit the website for listings: https://www.achristmascarol2020.film/?country=united-kingdom

UK theatrical release: Antrum

0
Danse Macabre have confirmed that the controversial horror Antrum will be released in UK Cinemas on 23rd October and on DVD & Digital from 26th October, over forty years after its original release.

Antrum, a feature length film shot in the late 1970’s, is said to be cursed. In 1988, a movie theatre in Budapest that was screening the film burnt to the ground, killing the 56 people who were in attendance. This incident follows the inexplicable deaths of a number of film festival programmers that had received Antrum as a submission and died shortly after watching it. These events have created a belief that watching Antrum will kill you.

Believed to have been lost, a sole copy of the film was tracked down and packaged for public release. After a short 10 minute documentary which examines the dark history of the film, viewers are given the opportunity to watch the original version of this cursed film at their own risk.

The film features a teenage girl and her young brother putting their dog to sleep for a violent act it committed. In an effort to save its soul, they enter a forest that contains “The Antrum”, the very spot that the devil landed when he was cast out of heaven. There they begin to dig towards hell, and the deeper they dig the more dangerous the forest becomes. It has been observed that at this point in the film more malevolent events start happening to the audience watching it.

As a journalist has observed, “ANTRUM’s reputation is partially due to additional real-world events that took place as the actual film was being shown. When ANTRUM screened at Fanta Fest in Rome, the organisers brought in a priest to bless the theatre.”

Antrum will be in UK Cinemas from 23rd October and DVD & Digital Download from 26th October.

Graveyards of Honor
Release Date: 7th September
Distributor: Arrow Video
Format: Blu-Ray
Contact: Distributor / PR

Set during the turbulent post-war years, Fukasaku s original 1975 film charts the rise and fall of real-life gangster Rikio Ishikawa (Tetsuya Watari, Outlaw Gangster VIP). Shot through with the same stark realism and quasi-documentarian approach as Fukasaku s earlier Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Fukasaku nonetheless breaks new ground through his portrayal of a gangster utterly without honor or ethics, surviving by any means necessary in a world of brutal criminality.

Meanwhile, Miike s 2002 retelling transplants the story to Tokyo at the turn of the millennium. Less a direct remake of Fukasku s film than a radical reimagining of the same overarching premise, Miike s film captures both the hedonism and nihilism of the modern Japanese crime scene in deliriously stylish fashion, resulting in a fascinating companion piece to the original that nonetheless stands as its own entity.

Of all of Méliès films, his boldest and most well known is certainly A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la Lune), loosely based on the writings of Jules Verne. A Trip to the Moon follows a group of travellers who jet off to the moon from earth on an exploration mission only to end up in peril and captured by the the local inhabitants, the Selenites. Featuring a who’s who of theatrical cast from the era, with Méliès himself taking a lead role, this is one of the very first forays into sci-fi cinema, and spawned one of the most iconic images of cinema – the man in the moon with a rocket in his eye.

Danny Huston, Peter Weller and Lisa Enos star in this biting satire on the behind-the-scenes of the Hollywood film industry, with all its drink and drug-fuelled excess, from director Bernard Rose (Candyman, Paperhouse).

Opening with the death of its titular protagonist, ivansxtc goes back in time to chart the final days of hot-shot Tinseltown agent Ivan Beckman Huston) and his fast-paced, wheeler-dealer lifestyle, which will ultimately lead him to an early grave after a shock cancer diagnosis.

Loosely based on Leo Tolstoy’s celebrated 1886 novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich, and featuring a searing performance by Danny Huston at its core and wonderfully sleazy turn from Peter Weller as Ivan s biggest client, ivansxtc is a powerful meditation on life, death and morality set against the glitzy backdrop of La La Land.
