UK Theatrical Release Schedule 2020

0
Cinema provides escapism, a chance to get lost in a story, to be taken to far away lands, be touched by fear, by love, by painful situations. It provides a safe space for people from the outside world, a social space for those meeting with friends and somewhere to catch forty winks in a dark room if you so wish.

The news this week that Cineworld will be temporarily closing its operations from Thursday and Odeon closing some venues during the week came as a blow and it is easy to assume that nothing is coming out. That is not the case. Between now and Christmas, there are tonnes of releases for all groups and ages to enjoy and to do so safely.

Please enjoy the trailers for them below

UK Theatrical Release: The Ringmaster

0
Danse Macabre are pleased to confirm their latest horror film, The Ringmaster, will be screened in UK Cinemas from 27th November, with a DVD & Digital release date on the 30th November.

The Ringmaster sees two young women (Anne Bergfeld & Karin Michelsen) working the night shift at a secluded gas station unwittingly become the stars of a terrifying show streamed live on the dark web. Held captive by a sadistic ringmaster and his cohorts, their survival instincts are stretched to the limit as they are forced to play a game of life and death as an unseen audience decide their fate.

The film is directed by Soren Juul Petersen and is based on “Finale” the best-selling Nordic noir novel by Steen Langstrup. The film has received 8 nominations and four awards including Best Feature – Horror Hound (USA), Best Feature – Moscow Horror Fest (Russia), Best Feature – Motor City Nightmares (USA).

The Ringmaster will be in UK Cinemas from 27th November and DVD & Digital Download from 30th November

UK Theatrical Release: Creation Stories

0

On the 60th birthday of music industry svengali, Alan McGee, Burning Wheel Productions are delighted to reveal a brand new teaser clip from their upcoming title CREATION STORIES.

CREATION STORIES is the feature film of the life of McGee – the adaptation of his highly acclaimed autobiography ‘Creation Stories – Riots, Raves and Running a Record Label‘.

Producer Shelley Hammond was delighted with the reveal. “We are really excited for everyone to get a first glimpse at Creation Stories! It’s a true British film in the best way possible. Nick Moran and everyone involved has done an absolutely sterling job and the best part is soon to come – when it’s out there for all to see!”

The film features a star-studded British cast including Ewen Bremner, Suki WaterhouseJason IsaacsJason FlemyngPaul Kaye,  Steven BerkoffThomas Turgoose & Ed Byrne.

Written by cult figure Irvine Welsh with writing partner Dean CavanaghCREATION STORIES is being directed by Nick Moran (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) with Danny Boyle (Trainspotting,  Slumdog Millionaire) executive producing.

“Creation Stories’ is a modern day fable. Part cautionary tale, part cavalier romp, mostly hilarious, occasionally sobering & constantly engaging.” Said Director Nick Moran“An irresistible trip down memory lane, or a delightful history lesson about the last great days of Rock & Roll. When Britannia ruled the airwaves, thanks to one man with his misfit mates and their indie record label that briefly changed history. It is shamelessly entertaining and I hope, a joy for everyone!”

The beginning, near bankruptcy, pills, thrills, spats, prats, success, excess and breakdowns. From leaving school at sixteen to setting up the Living Room club in London, showcasing emerging indie bands, from managing The Jesus and Mary Chain to co-founding Creation at 23. He brought us My Bloody ValentineHouse of LoveRide and, of course, Primal Scream. Embracing acid house, Alan decamped to Manchester, and hung out at the Hacienda, taking Creation into the big time with Primal Scream’s Screamadelica. His drug-induced breakdown, when it came, was dramatic, but climbing back to sobriety, he oversaw Oasis‘ rise to become one of the biggest bands in the world.

Coming to UK Cinemas soon!

UK theatrical release: Antrum

0
Danse Macabre have confirmed that the controversial horror Antrum will be released in UK Cinemas on 23rd October and on DVD & Digital from 26th October, over forty years after its original release.

Antrum, a feature length film shot in the late 1970’s, is said to be cursed. In 1988, a movie theatre in Budapest that was screening the film burnt to the ground, killing the 56 people who were in attendance. This incident follows the inexplicable deaths of a number of film festival programmers that had received Antrum as a submission and died shortly after watching it. These events have created a belief that watching Antrum will kill you.

Believed to have been lost, a sole copy of the film was tracked down and packaged for public release. After a short 10 minute documentary which examines the dark history of the film, viewers are given the opportunity to watch the original version of this cursed film at their own risk.

The film features a teenage girl and her young brother putting their dog to sleep for a violent act it committed. In an effort to save its soul, they enter a forest that contains “The Antrum”, the very spot that the devil landed when he was cast out of heaven. There they begin to dig towards hell, and the deeper they dig the more dangerous the forest becomes. It has been observed that at this point in the film more malevolent events start happening to the audience watching it.

As a journalist has observed, “ANTRUM’s reputation is partially due to additional real-world events that took place as the actual film was being shown. When ANTRUM screened at Fanta Fest in Rome, the organisers brought in a priest to bless the theatre.”

Antrum will be in UK Cinemas from 23rd October and DVD & Digital Download from 26th October.
