| Ship Of Life Films are delighted to announce the release of their new documentary, Picture Stories, about the life and legacy of Picture Post, the revolutionary magazine which shaped perceptions of British life during and after the Second World War. Ahead of its UK theatrical release on the 24th September, the documentary will also have special screenings at the Royal Photographic Society in Bristol on 15th September, and the Photography Show (NEC Birmingham) on 18th September. Following the UK theatrical release, Picture Stories will be released on digital download on 30th September. Britain’s best-selling magazine during the Second World War, and hugely influential for years after, Picture Post revolutionised the picture magazine, showing Britain to the British in a fundamentally new way. Using the freedom of new camera technology, Picture Post’s photographers portrayed the lives of ordinary people, at home, on the street, unposed – in a way they had never been seen before. Through its powerful, socially committed picture stories, Picture Post helped to transform post-war Britain, and change the face of British photography. The story of this iconic magazine is told by its photographers, writers and editors. Leading contemporary photographers reflect on Picture Post’s extraordinary images and influence. |
| Commenting on the release, film director Rob West stated; “Picture Post is arguably the most important magazine in British social history. It was born under the threat of War, and survived and flourished under the intense bombardment of the Blitz. Extraordinarily, during the height of World War II, Picture Post was looking ahead to post-War life and to the possibility of fundamental social reform. Picture Post had a huge impact on national awareness of social conditions in Britain and of the need for a comprehensive welfare state and a national health service. It brought cutting-edge photography, and the picture story, to a mass audience. It changed people’s understanding of their own country by showing, vividly, what British life was really like. I wanted to bring the extraordinary story of Picture Post and its photographers to modern audiences. Many of things we take for granted in photography, and our understanding of photographs and picture layout, started with Picture Post. Many of our ideas about British society were forged by Picture Post and its unique group of creators.” UK screenings of Picture Stories wil take place from 15th September and will be available on Digital Download from 30th September. | Olivia D’Abo (Point Of No Return) and Randall Batinkoff (As Good As It Gets) star as a middle-class couple whose teenage daughter (Jane Widdop) is abducted by sex traffickers. After helping her escape they assist police to infiltrate the gang and rescue other girls being held in captivity. Other significant cast include Dylan Sprayberry, Anthony Montgomery, Cherie Jiminez and Marty Dew. ANGIE: LOST GIRLS won Best Feature Awards at Chandler International Film Festival, Accolade Global Film Competition and Moving Parts Film Festival before its US release by Freestyle Entertainment. UK Festival Release: When The Screaming Starts

| Riotous Films in association with FOUR plus10 Films and Little Narwhal Films are delighted to announce that their new comedy-horror mockumentary, When the Screaming Starts, will have its World Premiere at FrightFest this August. Described as “If Louis Theroux met the Manson Family”, the film will debut alongside this year’s most prestigious and hotly anticipated horrors and thrillers at Leicester Square’s Cineworld on 28th August. The film will have two additional screenings, one later that night and another on Sunday 29th. The film includes Yasen Atour, who will star alongside Henry Cavill in the second season of The Witcher, as well as up and coming talent Ed Hartland (The Crown), Octavia Gilmore (For Sale) and Jared Rogers (making his second appearance at FrightFest following 2018’s Killer Weekend). When The Screaming Starts marks the feature debut of filmmaker Conor Boru, and was overseen by a production team which includes Dom Lenoir, who directed and produced the award-winning thriller Winter Ridge. |

| When Norman Graysmith is invited into the home of an aspiring serial killer, Aidan Mendle, he believes he has found the subject for the documentary that will transform his failing career. Initially the production goes well with Aidan freely opening up about his desire to kill, but when his early attempt at committing murder falls apart, things begin to unravel. Aidan desperately tries to maintain his position as the next Charles Manson by starting a murder cult, interviewing prospective members for what he affectionately calls his “family”. The potential candidates provide a rich tapestry of misfits, from the lost and confused to the (most likely) psychopathic. Events begin to spiral out of control and Norman watches his dreams crumbling around him. A wannabe serial killer, a warped filmmaker, and a murderous cult on a blood-soaked rampage. When The Screaming Starts is a darkly comic tale of how far we will go in order to achieve our ambitions. |

| Bad Blood Films have confirmed that their folk-horror Sacrilege will be heading to digital download from 27th September. The film stars a host of British talent, including Tamaryn Payne (Hollyoaks), Emily Wyatt (Rise of the Footsoldier), Sian Abrahams (Complete Strangers), Naomi Willow (A Guide To Second Date Sex), Ian Champion (Property), Rory Wilton (Fisherman’s Friends) & Emma Spurgin Hussey (Poldark). Four lifelong friends head to a remote lodge for a weekend of fun.What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly descends into a fight for their lives when a local Pagan cult offer them up to their Goddess as a sacrifice for the Solstice. |
| Sacrilege was produced and filmed in the South West of England where Producer Mark Kenna and Writer/ Director David Creed reside. Much of the film was shot in nearby Forest of Dean, as well as Weston-Super-Mare. The film was scheduled for a UK wide release in March 2020 and premiered at Empire Cineworld in Leicester Square to a packed out screening. Unfortunately within days, the Covid-19 pandemic gripped the country and many of the film’s screenings were curtailed. “We’re thrilled that UK audiences will finally be able to get the chance to watch Sacrilege. We’ve been blown away by its reception in the US and it’s great to see it finally come home after a tumultous eighteen months“, said producer Mark Kenna. Bad Blood Films pushed the limits of the budget by using a drone for the opening credit scene, as well as making use of a robot camera dolly and a five-camera set-up for the Ritual scene, casting 60 local residents as extras. The company also tested what could be done within independnent filmmaking in terms of special effects, bringing in stunt man David Anders (Spectre, Wonder Woman) in order to set him on fire for a scene. This was a remarkable feat within the independent filmmaking industry, with most companies opting for the less realistic alternative of CGI. This will be Bristol-based Bad Blood Films’ first feature length title, however they are already in different stages of production with five upcoming horror titles, starting with supernatural The Rippers Ghost and creature-feature horror Facility 31.
