The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show, LIVE! |
![]() |
Created by and starring drag superstars BenDeLaCreme & Jinkx Monsoon, “The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special” is the story of two queens who set out to create a classic Christmas TV variety show, but just can’t agree on how. With the help of a chorus of dancers and DeLa’s deceased grandmother—whose spirit lives on in a glass of eggnog—DeLa tries her hardest to uphold the cheery Christmas traditions of her childhood. Meanwhile, Jinkx is much more interested in bawdy jokes, cute boys, and boozy libations. As they sing and dance their way through numbers about everything from St. Nick to the Christ child, the tension between them mounts, culminating in an all-out battle for control of the show. After some hilarious insight into the ghosts of their very different Christmas pasts, and with the help of a mysterious naked man with a surprising holiday secret, the two realize that tradition can be whatever we make of it, and family is whomever we choose. This high camp, side-splitting romp is equal parts sacrilegious and sweet, with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold. “The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special” is sure to be a new holiday tradition for all the lost toys who know that the best traditions are the ones we create ourselves. A Christmas Carol follows a Victorian family as they prepare a toy-theatre for their annual performance of A Christmas Carol. The audience enters the imagination of one of the children and quickly the cardboard stage transforms to reveal a magical world containing real dancers and stylised sets. The tale unfolds on screen in a rich tapestry of highly absorbing, haunting and theatrical drama with characters portrayed by dancers and voiced by an eclectic cast of incredible actors. The mix of danced action and spoken narration brings a completely new and exciting dimension to Dickens’ characters whilst remaining true to the beauty of his original narrative. With pantomime season all but cancelled, the dual approach to release is to support both cinema and theatre industries during a time of financial hardship generated by the Coronavirus pandemic. The announcement of a second lockdown has not changed directors David and Jacqui Morris’s approach towards such an inherently theatrical film, best enjoyed on the big screen. Both directors see the release and supporting local cinemas and theatres as an inherent part of A Christmas Carol’s 2020 release. A Christmas Carol will be showing in mainland UK cinemas and theatres nationwide from 4th December and Ireland from 11th December. UK Theatrical Release: Creation Stories
0
On the 60th birthday of music industry svengali, Alan McGee, Burning Wheel Productions are delighted to reveal a brand new teaser clip from their upcoming title CREATION STORIES.
CREATION STORIES is the feature film of the life of McGee – the adaptation of his highly acclaimed autobiography ‘Creation Stories – Riots, Raves and Running a Record Label‘.
Producer Shelley Hammond was delighted with the reveal. “We are really excited for everyone to get a first glimpse at Creation Stories! It’s a true British film in the best way possible. Nick Moran and everyone involved has done an absolutely sterling job and the best part is soon to come – when it’s out there for all to see!”
The film features a star-studded British cast including Ewen Bremner, Suki Waterhouse, Jason Isaacs, Jason Flemyng, Paul Kaye, Steven Berkoff, Thomas Turgoose & Ed Byrne.
Written by cult figure Irvine Welsh with writing partner Dean Cavanagh, CREATION STORIES is being directed by Nick Moran (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) with Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) executive producing.
“Creation Stories’ is a modern day fable. Part cautionary tale, part cavalier romp, mostly hilarious, occasionally sobering & constantly engaging.” Said Director Nick Moran. “An irresistible trip down memory lane, or a delightful history lesson about the last great days of Rock & Roll. When Britannia ruled the airwaves, thanks to one man with his misfit mates and their indie record label that briefly changed history. It is shamelessly entertaining and I hope, a joy for everyone!”
The beginning, near bankruptcy, pills, thrills, spats, prats, success, excess and breakdowns. From leaving school at sixteen to setting up the Living Room club in London, showcasing emerging indie bands, from managing The Jesus and Mary Chain to co-founding Creation at 23. He brought us My Bloody Valentine, House of Love, Ride and, of course, Primal Scream. Embracing acid house, Alan decamped to Manchester, and hung out at the Hacienda, taking Creation into the big time with Primal Scream’s Screamadelica. His drug-induced breakdown, when it came, was dramatic, but climbing back to sobriety, he oversaw Oasis‘ rise to become one of the biggest bands in the world.
Coming to UK Cinemas soon!
