UK VOD Release: Sensation

GROFilm Production is excited to announce that their latest release, mystery thriller Sensation, will be available on digital download from 16th April.  Sensation is the second film from Director Martin Grof, following his award-winning hit Excursion. Boasting an exciting cast, the film stars Eugene Simon (Game of Thrones, Genius) &  Emily Wyatt (Hurricane, Rise of the Footsoldier: The Heist).   The film follows Andrew (Eugene Simon), who, while on a quest to uncover hidden truths about his family history, provides a top-secret agency with his DNA in order to uncover his ancestry. Andrew soon discovers that his DNA is far from ordinary. He has superhuman powers that he traces back to his grandparents and their involvement in a top-secret government program. On entering the program he finds he’s not alone, joining him are other individuals with superhuman skills. Andrew learns that soon he’ll be able to receive information based on his senses and control the senses of others. As the secret training unfolds, Andrew spirals into turmoil as he loses control of his agency and begins to question his reality.

Sensation will be available on Amazon Video from 16th April

UK VOD Release: Red Rage

Saints & Savages has revealed that Red Rage, the explosive British thriller will be released in the UK on 19th April on DVD & Digital Download platforms. Red Rage recently won Best Feature at the Europe Film Festival 2021.  The film stars a host of British talent including Adam Deacon (Anuvahood), Vas Blackwood (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Ian Reddinton (Highlander) and Steven Berkoff (Octopussy). This will be the third Saints & Savages title with Savvas D. Michael behind the camera, with Original Gangster and Righteous Villains confirmed for UK release on 5th and 12th April respectively.   The film also reunites a number of the cast with Savvas D. Michael, with Berkoff also starring in Righteous Villains, Blackwood and Reddington in Original Gangster and Deacon in both. The gritty thriller will also introduce Fernanda Diniz in her first lead role alongside Jack Turner.  A murderous vigilante couple tear through the city, serving vengeance to dealers of a new designer drug called Red Devil in this nightmarish dystopia where everyone seems high on something.

Commenting on the release, Saints and Savages’ CEO, John Pavlakos was delighted with the announcement. He said “It’s fantastic that we’re able to release Red Rage in the UK. Diniz and Turner are great in the lead roles and there is fantastic British talent supporting them in the likes of Adam Deacon, Vas Blackwood, Ian Reddington and the iconic Steven Berkoff. This one’s a wild trip!”  Red Rage will be available on DVD & Digital Download from 19th April

UK VOD Release: Gatecrash

Bird Box Distribution is thrilled to announce the release of its latest film, twisted psychological thriller, GATECRASH, which will be coming to all major Digital Download platforms from 22nd February.  Adapted from Terry Hughes’ award-winning stage play ‘Life’s A Gatecrash’, GATECRASH drives the audience to a breaking point in this modern-day revenge tragedy, starring Game of Thrones’ & The Crown’s Anton Lesser.   The film follows Steve (Ben Cura) and Nicola (Olivia Bonamy) arriving home in the middle of the night, shortly after being involved in a hit and run accident. However, as the night unfolds a series of disturbing events force the couple to battle against an unseen, menacing presence culminating in a sickening discovery.

British indie distributor Bulldog Film Distribution, alongside Shogun Films, have confirmed the release of the upcoming gangland home invasion thriller, Nemesis. The film will be released on DVD and across Digital Download platforms from 29th March. Written by Adam Stephen Kelly (Done In, Kill Kane) and directed by James Crow (House of Salem), the film stars genre veterans Billy Murray (Rise of the Footsoldier), Frank Harper (The Football Factory), Nick Moran (Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels) and Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (The Krays Dead Man Walking).   When underworld kingpin John Morgan (Billy Murray) returns to London with his wife Sadie (Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott) from their perfect life abroad, a feud is reignited with vengeful cop Frank Conway (Nick Moran) who is obsessed with bringing him down. Meanwhile, pressure from big boss Damien Osbourne (Bruce Payne) only adds unnecessary heat to the rising tension within the family busines, with Morgan’s brother Richard (Frank Harper) and nephew Eddie (Danny Bear) constantly at each other’s throats. John aims to bring the Morgan gang together at a party in his plush apartment where they are set to meet his daughter Kate’s (Ambra Moore) new girlfriend Zoe (Lucy Aarden) – but all is not what it seems and as the night progresses a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues ending in revenge and murder, as the family are trapped in their own home by a gang of heavily armed intruders.

Righteous Villains will be available on DVD & Digital Download from 12th April

British independent distributor Saints & Savages have confirmed that their latest title, Righteous Villains, will be available in the UK on DVD and Digital Download from 12th April.  The film is the second title from Saints & Savages to be directed by Savvas D. Michael, following the news that the crime thriller Original Gangster will be released on 5th April. Righteous Villains stars Gary Dourdan (CSI), Lois Brabin-Platt (Original Gangster), Adam Deacon (Anuvahood) and the iconic British actor, Steven Berkoff (Octopussy).   A young conman with nothing left to lose, and desperate for his next money-making scheme, receives a mysterious invite to join the New World Order, a secret society of powerful individuals that supposedly control every aspect of the world. The further he becomes entangled, he realizes the sinister motivations of the society are born from sorcery and black magic, but when you’re in so deep, it’s not always easy to find a way out.

Saints and Savages CEO, John Pavlakos was thrilled with the news. Saints & Savages are delighted to reveal the first of their three titles to be released in the UK across April. Directed by Savvas D. Michael, the British crime thriller, Original Gangster, will be available in the UK on DVD & Digital Download from 5th April.  The film stars Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy, 3 Men and a Baby), as well as a host of British talent including Adam Deacon (Anuvahood), Ian Reddington (Highlander), Vas Blackwood (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and the up-and-coming talent Alex Mills as the lead role, Castor.  Castor is orphaned when gangsters murder his parents, but sentimental assassin Milo spares his life. Years later, once Castor has reached adulthood, the two are reunited when Castor steals from one of Milo’s men to survive. Milo sees a budding gangster in Castor, who has resorted to violence to sustain himself in his mostly homeless existence. Milo procures a job for Castor as an enforcer. Castor is happy to repay Milo for saving his life, but finds himself increasingly uncomfortable the cold, emotionless existence of a criminal. Castor must make a choice between living the violent, empty life of a gangster or to pursue his lifelong dream of having his own family.

Original Gangster will be available on DVD & Digital Download from 5th April

Blue Finch Film Releasing have announced their latest release ‘The Winter Lake‘, which will be available on digital download from 15th March. The film boasts an incredible cast including leading performances from two of Screen International’s  ‘Stars of Tomorrow’, Netflix hit Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Death on the Nile), and Anson Boon (Pistol, 1917). Mackey and Boon showcase incredible performances alongside Game of Thrones’ Michael McElhatton & Peaky Blinders’ Charlie Murphy. ‘The Winter Lake’ follows withdrawn teenager Tom (Boon) who after making a grim discovery in a seasonal lake, discovers the truth about his neighbours, a father (McElhatton) and daughter (Mackey) who are harbouring sinister secrets.

The Winter Lake will be available on Digital Download from 15th March

UK VOD Release: Come True

Lightbulb Film Distribution are delighted to release their new sci-fi horror, Come True, in cinemas from 12th March, on Digital Download from 15th March, and on Limited Edition Blu-ray from 5th April. The film celebrated its World Premiere at Fantasia, followed by the UK premiere at Abertoir Horror Festival. Directed by Anthony Scott Burns (Our House), the film stars Julia Sarah Stone (Honey Bee, Weirdos) and Landon Liboiron (Truth or Dare). The film was produced by Vincenzo Natali (Splice, In The Tall Grass) and the score was composed by Canadian synth-pop duo Electric Youth and Burns (under the moniker Pilotpriest). Plagued by nightmares, a troubled teenager signs up to a sleep disorder study. Hoping that will finally stop her sinister dreams, she unknowingly becomes the channel to a horrifying new discovery.

UK VOD Release: Butchers

Sharp Teeth Films is thrilled to release their latest horror, Butchers. Directed by Adrian Langley, the Canadian independent horror will be released in the UK across all major digital platforms from 22nd February and DVD on 8th March to coincide with National Butchers Week!  After their car breaks down, four youths find themselves stranded in the middle of nowhere. Little do they know they are being watched. They soon fall captive to a family of sadistic butchers who keep their ‘fresh meat’ tied up in a wooden outhouse. With hints of WRONG TURN, the four friends have little time to escape before it’s their turn to meet the chopping block.

Sharp Films’ director Joey Leung was delighted to share the news of the UK release. He says, “At Sharp Teeth Films, we love supporting independent directors. Lightbulb Film Distribution are excited to announce that the multi award-winning & critically acclaimed music biopic SCHEMERS will be hitting DVD and digital download on Burns Night, 25th January 2021. SCHEMERS smashed expectations earlier this year and scored the highest new box office entry during its opening weekend in September, following its wins at the Edinburgh Film Festival and New York Winter Film Awards.  The film is based on the true story surrounding music promoter David McLean’s stream of ambitious gigs in 1980’s, which included Simple Minds, XTC, Ultravox, The Skids & Iron Maiden! Celebrating youthful ambition SCHEMERS features a great classic indie soundtrack from 70s & 80s.  Shot in and around Dundee, SCHEMERS features Conor Berry‘s award winning on-screen debut as well as Tara Lee (The Fall), Sean Connor (Anna and the Apocalypse) & Grant R. Keelan (The Devil’s Machine).

SCHEMERS follows Davie (Conor Berry) who is a dreamer from the council schemes of Dundee, who is constantly hustling for his next buck, then losing it on the horses. After a football injury, Davie falls for trainee nurse Shona (Tara Lee) and tries to impress her by running a disco. Along with friends John and Scot, the trio start promoting bands – culminating in a hugely ambitious Iron Maiden gig at the Caird Hall, Dundee. With ambition so grand they go deep in debt with Fergie, a gangster of legendary violence, Davie needs to use every trick to pull off the biggest scheme of his life. Commenting on the release, Matthew Kreuzer, Commercial Director at Lightbulb Film Distribution, said “We are delighted to be releasing this independent film.
